Many of us already have a great set of core muscles. Unfortunately it is hidden behind some layers of fat. Here are some tips to help you shred that lard.
1). Substitute soft drink for anything that is not soft drink. Ideally you will want to be staying to home made fruit juices, teas and water, but in the real world this is not so easy. Alcohol is also not so crash hot for you, but I am not going to tell you to end your social life. Soda Water has worked well for many people, where some fizzy water and a squirt of lemon juice can be just as refreshing as a ‘lift’. And for your morning coffee try having it with no tea spoons of sugar.
2). Cardio – Going for a 30 minute jog three or four times a week will do wonders for burning fat. For fat burning your pace is not that important so long as you are exercising. A simple way to achieve this is to walk or run to work rather than drive.
3). Girls… do not worry about getting bulky. Men have different chemicals running around their bodies which are more prone for muscle building. Even for guys, getting bulky is very hard work. It takes a well calculated diet, and weights program. No one accidently gets to look like captain steroids friendly.
4). When your muscles are more developed and toned, your body will become more efficient at burning fat. Just think more reactors would use more fuel than a single reactor.
5). When shopping in the supermarket, stick to the outer walls. Here you will find, fruit, veg, breads, dairy, and meat.
6). If you are trying to lose weight or track your progress, use a measure tape instead of tracking your weight. The reason for this is that muscles weights more than fat, so you will gain weight before you lose it. (even though you are getting slimmer)
7). When standing around in your super stressful job, suck in your stomach and tuck in your butt. This does burn a small bit of fat, and also develops your core muscles.
8). Eat an epic breakfast! (preferably with lots of water and an apple) And here is why. Having a tonne of stuff in your tummy makes it less likely that you will binge on other meals through out the day. Not to mention you will be more alert and more energetic.
9). If you do go light on a meal, make it dinner. You only need the energy for sleeping.
10). Substitute your snacks. Go for nuts and dried fruit instead of chippies and lollies.
On a parting note remember to occasionally brake the 10 previous rules. Trust me soft drink taste so much better when you have not had any for a few weeks. Many successful diets even have ‘cheat days’ where we can enjoy the finer things of life.
